Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries Recipe

air fryer sweet potato fries recipe

I’ve had my air fryer for about two years now, and honestly, it’s been gathering more dust than it should. But that’s about to change! This recipe is a testament to my new commitment. If you’re a fan of French fries but are staying away from junk (proud of you BTW), air fryer fries are a fantastic, healthier alternative. They were one of the first things I tried in my air fryer, and they turned out surprisingly great. But this recipe is a little different—because we’re swapping out regular potatoes for their delicious cousin, sweet potatoes. Ahead, you’ll find a quick and easy Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries recipe with almost no oil and just 5 ingredients.

The moment I saw some Instagram cooking bloggers making these (day 26337834 of thanking the internet), I knew I had to try them. Why? Well, for starters, I love sweet potatoes (don’t we all?). Plus, I’m knee-deep in my healthy eating era. So yes, I made them—and they turned out pretty amazing! The best part? They’re super quick to make. Here’s how you can make them too!

Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 large Sweet Potato
  • ¾ tsp Salt
  • ¾ tsp Pepper
  • 1.5 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tbsp Oil

Prep the Sweet Potatoes:

  • Clean the sweet potato thoroughly and peel the skin off. Chop off the edges. Cut it lengthwise into 2-3 inch sections, then slice into ½ inch wide pieces. Now, cut these into fries. Aim for uniform size to ensure even cooking.
  • In a bowl, add salt, pepper, and paprika to the fries. Mix well to ensure even coating. If you have garlic powder, feel free to add it for extra flavor.
  • Add the oil to the seasoned fries and mix gently. Ensure each piece is evenly coated.

How to Air Fry Sweet Potatoes

  • Preheat your air fryer to 195°C for 5 minutes.
  • Once ready, add the fries to the basket and shake it to allow space for air circulation.
  • Air fry at 195°C for 15 minutes.
  • Take the basket out every 5 minutes and shake it to make sure they are fried evenly.

Your sweet and spicy sweet potato fries are ready! Serve them hot with ketchup, ranch, or your favorite dip.

Note:
Air fryer models vary, so keep an eye on the fries and adjust the cooking time as needed to get your desired texture.

Trivia:

Sweet potatoes contain fewer carbs and more fiber than regular potatoes. They’re super rich in Vitamin A too. And not to mention, hella tasty!
